One of the attackers of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been killed. Another person has been arrested. Imran Khan's associate Rauf Hasan gave this information. The police also informed about the arrest of one of the attackers. Al-Jazeera news
Imran Khan was shot at during a long march in Wazirabad, Punjab province, on Thursday afternoon. He was shot three to four times in the leg. However, his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) informed that Imran is safe. Some leaders of the party were also injured in the attack.
Senior Vice President of PTI Fawad Chowdhury claimed that this attack was carried out to kill Imran Khan. He told Reuters that if the people present at the scene had not stopped the gunman, all the PTI leaders might have been killed.
The person arrested for attacking Imran Khan also said that he wanted to kill Imran. In a video recorded after his arrest, he is heard saying, "Imran was leading people on the wrong path." I couldn't stand it. So I wanted to kill him. I tried my best to kill Imran. I wanted to kill only him, not anyone else.'
Imran Khan is marching from Lahore to the capital Islamabad to demand early elections in Pakistan. The long march started from last Friday. He was in Wazirabad as part of the Long March.
