In the meeting, BGB strongly protested on behalf of Bangladesh regarding border infiltration and drug smuggling.
At the end of the meeting that lasted for about 5 and a half hours, the head of the delegation of Bangladesh, the captain of the BGB, Lt. Colonel Sheikh Khalid Iftekhar.
The meeting between the delegations of the two countries started at the BGB's 'Southan Point' conference room on Sunday at around 10 am on the Shahpari island of Teknaf on the border of the Naf river. It ends around 3:30 pm.

Apart from this, the people of Ghumdhum, Tumbru, Dauchhari, Palangkhali of Ukhiya and Hoikyang border of Teknaf were also in fear. They were strongly protested in these matters.

The tension on the border started in August this year. Heavy shelling and mortar shelling broke out between the country's army and the Rakhine State insurgent group Arkan Army inside Myanmar on the Tumbru border in Naikshyongchari. On August 28, two mortar shells fired in Myanmar landed in the territory of Bangladesh. However, no one was injured as it did not explode.
In early September, two more mortars fired from Myanmar Army warplanes landed inside Bangladesh. On the same day, Myanmar warplanes flew near Bangladesh border.
Then on September 16, a few mortar shells landed inside Bangladesh again. One Rohingya refugee died and 6 others were injured when a mortar shell exploded at the Zero Line.
As soon as the Tumbru border was closed, the shelling started again at Palangkhali border and Teknaf border in Ukhia.
Finally, on October 23, massive shelling started again inside Myanmar at the Chakdhala border in Naikshyongchari. After two days, no more gunshots have been heard.
