As the women's room of the train is running

are you male If you are found in this women's compartment, you will be fined 500 rupees. Then written in English—Now Decision is Yours. In some places while writing woman with a black sign pen, in some places there is only 'M', and in some places the rest is left out of 'M'. Nowhere on the outside is it written that the compartment or the room is reserved for women.

Many male passengers are entering the room. And then the women passengers of the compartment kept saying, get down, this is the women's room. Hearing this, many people get down easily, while many people stand at the gate of the compartment, saying that there is nothing written outside the compartment. Again, many women in one place - just to see it and have fun, many male passengers entered the room. However, the female passengers of the compartment do not compromise on the male passengers. They consider this room as their own room, so they do not want to share this right in any way.

On Dhaka-Narayanganj route, there is a reserved compartment for women in local trains. On October 20, this picture was seen by traveling to that room.

The room is crowded with women passengers during the morning and afternoon office hours. Students, nurses, jobbers, housewives—everyone is among the passengers. Every passenger gets into the room with a thud and stomp and the same goes for getting off. A few months old baby in someone's arms. Some have traveled by train with chicken cages, sacks or other items.

On October 20, the train started its journey from Narayanganj towards Dhaka at quarter past five. While hurrying to board the train at different stations, anger and arguments started among the women passengers. But once you stumble in, it becomes a place to stand. The women who were quarreling or angry a moment ago, left the train and found themselves engrossed in the story. Nothing is left out in the story, starting from family, sickness and prosperity to the increase in the price of goods in the market. The passenger who is able to sit on the seat, is the one who moves a little and asks another person to sit.

None of the passengers could tell when the toilet in the women's room was destroyed. However, the condition of the passengers was deteriorating due to the stench coming from the toilet.

There are no empty seats, the toilets are broken, but why did you get into this room, almost all the women smile on their faces. The gist of their statement is that this room is reserved for women. No one is being sexually harassed. They feel safe. And since the passengers will get off at a short distance, even if the toilets are broken, there is not much problem except for the bad smell.

Women passengers demand that women passengers will benefit if more trains are reserved for women. Now come to the station and wait. And the train room is dirty, if it is a little clean, the passengers can travel comfortably.

According to the information of the Ministry of Railways mentioned in the Government's Gender Budget Report (2022-2023), separate rooms are being reserved for women passengers on the Dhaka-Narayanganj route as well as Turag Express and Tangail commuter trains. As a result, women's opportunities in obtaining government services are increasing.

However, on inquiry with the concerned officials of the railways, it is known that separate rooms have not been introduced in the Tangail commuter train so far. And the Turag Express plying on the Dhaka to Joydevpur route is of a better standard, so the women's room is also good. Not as bad as Dhaka-Narayanganj train.

On October 20, while waiting for a ticket at the Narayanganj platform next to the Kamalapur station, it was revealed that the train that will leave the station at 3:30 in the afternoon will be driven by Salma Khatun, the country's first woman train driver. Before leaving the train, Salma Khatun agreed when the reporter expressed his interest to see how the train was run. He said that due to heat, he and his male assistant cannot run the train wearing the clothes prescribed for the driver.

Sitting in the small engine room, Salma Khatun started driving the train. In front of his face is a small fan mounted on the train machinery. Where his assistant sits, it is not there either. The dust outside and the black smoke of the train seemed to come to Salma Khatun's face. There is a loud sound of the horn. Salma Khatun was driving the train very cautiously while sitting bent on a small chair, looking ahead and behind. He said, whatever the facilities, the responsibility of the life and property of so many passengers of the train is on the shoulders of the driver. So there is no scope for dereliction of duty.
